Osteopathic Qualification:

D.O. The British School of Osteopathy, London, UK 1985-1989 (four year full time course of training)

Aims:

'Osteopathy aims to treat the whole person'.
The role of the osteopath is to facilitate ‘the body’s’ ability to heal itself. Harry aims to help you feel better in the shortest time possible by treating the cause
and not just symptom.

Background and Treatment offered:

As a mature student, Harry trained for 4 years at the British School Of Osteopathy, graduating in July 1989. He started work in Covent Garden, establishing one of the first Osteopathic clinics within a gym at the ‘The Gym’, The Jubilee Hall Sports Centre, London WC2 in October 1989, and for over 20 years he has became known as ‘the guy down the corridor at Jubilee’ or simply ‘Harry the Back’.

Popular with dancers, actors and keen exercisers, as well as local residents and those working in the offices around Covent Garden, many of his clients have preferred the convenience of an experienced practitioner who has served the Central London area for many years, as opposed to taking more time out of their day by seeking
treatment closer to home.

In the past 20+ years, Harry has treated all types of shapes, sizes, ages, and professions; from window cleaners to Royalty or world champion sports men and women to keep fit enthusiast. From ballet dancers to first time salsa participants, or those that like to sing in the shower to opera singers.

The bulk of Harry’s work has centred around office workers, those in the restaurant industry, solicitors and the media who by the very nature of their work seem more
prone to back pain.

…….‘osteopathic principles and treatment can be applied to one and all regardless of the individual’s age or the condition they suffer’

but like every therapy

‘some symptoms like some people will respond better to treatment and you should know within three sessions if it is for you’……
The first session starts with a case history and examination. Once a diagnosis has been reached, treatment can include massage and joint manipulation.  Advice on posture, ergonomics, exercise, diet and lifestyle are equally important elements that need careful consideration if the causes rather than just the symptoms
are to be treated.

Treatment can give pain relief for conditions as wide ranging as disc injury, strained muscles and joints to headaches. Chronic problems like arthritis, asthma or migraine can also benefit from treatment.

…….’It’s not just injury or strain that people seek osteopathy for, sometimes osteopathy can help you get through a stressful period and over the effects of stress. Sometimes it can also help you to get that “little extra” out of your body when you need it most !’
